16-01-12 love reviews weekly showcase

I have a theory that writing product reviews is one of the best perks of being a blogger.

In three years of blogging, I’ve reviewed everything from stereo equipment to holidays and the latest kids’ toys.

Still, the life of a reviewer is not without peril. Only last week, my parents got into the back seat of my car and remarked upon the presence of an STI testing kit, which was wrapped in a lovely lilac bowl.

“A PR person sent it me,” I muttered.

My Mum nodded but judging by the NHS leaflets on sexual health that have started to appear in my kitchen, I don’t think she completely believed me.

Like I said, reviewing can be tough.

So spare a thought for the bloggers in this week’s Love All Blogs reviewing showcase – they have put themselves through HELL so that you can make confident product choices. I applaud them all for their bravery and self-sacrifice.

I think the least we can do is to pop round and take their recommendations on board. Go on – do your bit to show we care.

PS: In case you were wondering, I don’t have an STI. Phew. Always good to check, though.

Science Sparks – Rockfords Rock Opera review and giveaway

Rockfords Rock Opera review and giveaway

Rockford’s Rock Opera is the story of a boy and his dog (Rockford). It was first launched as an audio book, but can now be downloaded as an App ( for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch ).
The story is an ecological musical which demonstrates beautifully to children the effect man is having upon life on Earth. The story is aimed at 6-12 year olds but my 3 and 4 year old have been entranced, we downloaded the first part of the story for free here, and are now working our way through the first App.

Ramblings Of A Suburban Mummy – GTech SW20 Power Sweeper

The GTech SW20 Power Sweeper is an electric carpet sweeper. Like the old fashioned carpet sweepers that maybe your mum or your grandma had in the past the SW20 is ideal for a quick run round in between normal vaccuums.

Mammasaurus – Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park = a fun day out!

Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park = a fun day out!

Clean and shiny and oozing infectious Peppa Piggyness that even impressed hardened Papasaurus. The kiddies were totally overwhelmed and stood and gawped as we entered – not knowing where to go first !

It’s been well thought out too, there are many little touches that serve well at distracting little minds whilst queuing. But I know what you are thinking – the queues are terrible – well not always the case – if you read on I’ll have a guide on avoiding the queues, saving money and keeping the children happy below…

Jennifer’s Little World – Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World

Yesterday we went to visit Paultons Park, with Peppa Pig World being the main attraction. We picked a good day to visit – term time, mid week and on a day which started drizzly but brightened up later.

We aimed to arrive just as the park opened at 10.30am, and actually arrived before this. So we were pleased to discover that although 10.30am was when the rides started, the park was actually already open. This meant that we could make the most of the day with a look around and visit to the play areas before the rides started.

Mummy Musings – Party Dresses from Next

Party Dresses from Next

I don’t buy dresses that often as we rarely go to places that need us to be dressed up. I wear them for the usual occasions such as weddings but normally that’s only one or two per year.

When it was announced that our works Christmas party this year was due to be held in a posh hotel I was quite excited as it meant I could dress up a little. I was then asked if I’d like to choose a dress from Next – perfect timing – and jumped at the chance.

An Essex Wife – A Good Nights Sleep

As many of you will know this Essex family have just welcomed a new baby girl into the world, therefore sleep is a precious commodity right now. So when we were asked to try out and review the new memory foam pillows from BedStar we couldn’t wait to sink right into them and catch an extra 40 winks, all in the name of research of course!

The Princess and The Pickle – Minene 3 in 1 Activity Mat review

Minene 3 in 1 Activity Mat review

The Pickle loves the mini sofa – we have put it in the corner of the room and he has now claimed this as his reading corner, often sitting there flicking through a book. I was a bit concerned at how sturdy the sofa would be, as it is very lightweight and I found it easy to push over, so I stood it against a wall to stop it from toppling over in case The Pickle decided to throw himself at it!

I have something really nice to share with you. On Saturday we went to PYO Farm! Yes i didn’t think that something like this exist in UK! It was so lovely! Boogie absolutely loved it.
I recommend everyone with kids to go. My daughter loved walking through the trees and picking fruits and put them to her basket. She was so funny! We were not suppose to eat the fruits but really how can i stop my child. She was ravashing the rasberries and by the time we went to pay she was covered in juices!
