16-01-12 Love Video Weekly Showcase
The next showcase is upon us, how did that happen so quickly?!
I don’t know about you, but I thoroughly enjoyed looking through last week’s videos. There was some great originality and creativity on show and amazingly diverse subject matter. A special mention must go to Mammasaurus’ randy teddies and Maris World’s yummy-looking cake pops that made my stomach rumble (yes, really!).
Oh, and a note to Here Come the Girls – please tell me your ‘Mary Poppins’ secret, pretty please! I wish a snap of my fingers is all it would take for my house to tidy itself in seconds. Oh well, it’s back to the washing up and scraping stickers off the coffee table, sofa and back of the toilet. It’s a glamorous life…
But for me, the best thing about last week’s showcase was how inspiring it was. Beforehand, I was getting too worried about little details like lighting, scene composition and questions about music copyright. Niggles about whether I was doing it ‘right’ and a self-imposed pressure to create Hollywood-worthy productions were stopping me from vlogging. But you know what? There is no ‘right’ way of doing things and the most important thing is that you have a go. The showcase made me want to get the camera out and try new things. So I did. And it felt great. I hope it can inspire others too.

Mari’s World – What’s in your handbag?
My first ever bag was a Chelsea Girl bronze holdall which I used in the 5th form for my school bags and By God was I cool! I used it until the handles broke from wear and tear and was very upset when it had to go BUT this was the moment my passion for handbags was born
