Felt Christmas Decorations
I love Christmas. I want Kit to love Christmas too. But I want him to love it for the lights and the sparkle, not for the presents! I think Christmas should be an attack on the senses.
I know it is early, but I want to make a lot before Christmas, I want a truely handmade Christmas in my flat (and possibly with some handmade gifts to others too), so Christmas is officially underway here. I bought a wire Christmas tree from Ikea (if I can’t have a real tree I don’t want a plastic one), now I just need some bits to hang on it.
Chocolate Truffles… the easy way
Truffles was the first ever recipe I posted to my blog. I’m quite glad I did as I don’t have to hunt around for what is probably my favourite recipe to give as a gift.
If you are like me and like to make presents for the people in your life, here is a really easy thing to make – Truffles.
Here are two recipes; one for white chocolate and cardamom and another for dark chocolate and chilli; a sweet earthy truffle and a bitter spicy one. Best made in partnership as they complement each other well, and look pretty in a box.
If in a rush I choose a small, shallow, plastic, clip box or two to present them in, and finish with a big bow.
Just make sure you have enough to keep a few for yourself x
Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year, I love it when the leaves start to turn pretty shades of red and orange, pinecones cover the floor and the smell of fireworks lingers in the mornings.
Z and S like nothing better than going out on bikes hunting for pinecones, so I took them out to look for some craft inspiration.
hadows are formed when light cannot pass through an object. As light moves in a straight line, shadows are the same shape as the object making the shadow.
To demonstrate this you can make shadow puppets.
What you need
straws or lolly sticks
torch or light
Christmas Crafty Bits Part 1 – Winter Nature Scene (Thingy)
Can I be forgiven for talking about (dare I say it) Christmas yet? Sod it, it’s nearly December, the shops are playing Christmas music, I’m off to see Santa on Friday and, more importantly, the Coca Cola advert is on TV… let the countdown to Christmas begin!
My first crafty instalment is this little ‘Winter Nature Scene’ as The Princess named it. Well, actually, she named it ‘Winter Nature Thingy’, so call it what you like!
We spend a lot of time walking in the New Forest and on one occasion The Princess collected lots of pine cones, stones, acorns, plus a piece of tree bark we found on the ground. When we got home I cleaned them all up and de-bugged them (!) before we created the ‘thingy’…
