Beauty on a Budget – Beauty For Free! – Salon treatments
I have recently been conducting an experiement to see how many beauty treatments I can get for free or at a reduced price. I started this project as I was feeling unnatractive after having two children & having two children.
I have shared my experiences in my blog and also some D.I.Y. beauty tips along with hair and make up tips for busy mums.
Ramblings of Geo – Ramblings of a twenty something whose addicted to Beauty
I love beauty products and love to write about them.
All Things Chic – Radiant Cosmetics :: Beauty with a Purpose
Radiant Cosmetics was founded on the belief that for-profit companies should be working just as hard as non-profits to transform the world into a better place. But why cosmetics you ask? Well, the cosmetics industry generates $170 billion annually. Women dominate this industry and of the over 2 million human beings trafficked each year, 80% are women and girls. Nicole Marett, the founder and owner of Radiant Cosmetics has a dream to awaken a generation of women to not sit back and allow this injustice to happen to our fellow sisters.
Love Lust & Fairy Dust – Manatomicals For The Men In Your Life
It can’t be easy being the husband/boyfriend/partner of a Beauty Blogger. I mean, I’m on first name terms with my postman, there is a constant stream of goodies being delivered that I have ordered off the internet, products arriving that have been recommended by other beauty bloggers, products that I have purchased in blog sales and PR samples. Every now and then my husband’s little face lights up when he sees that I have been sent some ‘manly products’ for him to try.
Joie de Vivre Beauty – Are You An Organic Beauty?
This is an excerpt from an article on the Daisy Green website that I kept and filed away some months ago. At the time, I was considering how I felt about what was in the products I bought, and if I was happy with all the additives and chemicals being used. It also brought up the question of animal-testing in the beauty industry. A practice I’m happy to say is used less and less, but unfortunately, hasn’t been completed eliminated.
iwantyourtalent – I Want Mior Dior, Cheers.
For the past three years it has become a rule in my family that instead of buying Christmas gifts we put our money on the table in the form of delicious nom nommyness and alcohol. The only presents allowed are for the spoilt little horrors lovely little angels that are my niece and nephew. Awww.
Me and My Shadow – Add Bio Oil to your daily routine
I’m sure most of us mums will be familiar with Bio Oil – it seems to be the universally recognised cure for stretch marks. I know I used it during and post pregnancy and never seemed to be afflicted with stretch marks, and I’ve also used it successfully on a scar.
However, I’d never really thought of it as an everyday beauty product, more something to use as a drastic repair! When I was contacted and asked if I’d like to try some for general use, I was intrigued.
Tales of The March Hare – Glossybox
… Despite the cutbacks though, one ‘New Entry’ treat has managed to sneak its way onto the new budget spreadsheet, and that’s the monthly ‘Glossybox’. (No, this is not a euphemism). I read about Glossybox last week on one of the many spam emails I seem to receive every waking hour and while I don’t usually sign up for anything I find in my spam, this seemed like a very good idea indeed…My first box arrived this morning and I don’t think I could have been any happier. The Glossybox combines two of my favourite things. Post & Smellies.
My Funny Mummy – Colour
Dying for a change.
After yesterday’s scrupulous cleaning of one’s bod, today I took grooming to the next level. New hair.
I am a cheap skate. Why would I have a professional, with training, experience and in general, A CLUE, dye my barnet when I can buy a bargain bin supermarket box job with a pretty face on the front and easily make a horrendous hash of it all on my very own? And for a fifth of the price? Er, hello?! Sold. To the woman with the singed, patchy, balding mane.
Margot and Barbara – Gorilla Perfumes
I realise, as I write this, that I could be accused of turning this blog into some kind of Lush Love-Fest. It’s my second post about the company in as many weeks. And no, I’m not getting anything out of it. I’m going to plough on regardless, because I spent a brilliant time in the company of a member of staff at the Lush Leeds store recently during an evening to promote their new Valentine’s Day collection.
Hello Wall…. – Me and Mr Jones….
I am very excited. I won a Peter ‘dragon’ Jones competition on Twitter….
So, I have a £99 voucher to spend on a Red Letter day. Spurred on by the thought that Husband and I could have a nice theatre and dinner trip, I soon realised that all this required a day’s babysitting for my three monkeys and so, like my Strictly Come Dancing sojourn, Husband has been bumped off. This time for my other BFF who is in need of a cheer up so I plan to take her for a spa day. Pampering, gossiping and feeling human.
