Right Mums, get the kettle on, grab a biscuit and prepare yourselves for some great reads, because the Royal Mumness is back! We have been overjoyed with all your entries, and thrilled that so many of you are re-tweeting us so that more lovely Mum Bloggers get the opportunity to feature. We know how difficult it is to remember everything (especially those of us who still have nappy brain like me!) so why don’t you submit your post for next week now? Then give yourself a big A+ and get on to the fun part!
Last week saw the first of our lovely giveaway competitions and I am delighted to let you know that the winner of the lovely handmade ceramic buttons and dove from Dottery Pottery is … @maggiemou! Congratulations! Keep reading to find out how you can be the winner of another gorgeous prize next week.
This week in Mummy Blogging Land has seen quite a few new memes and linky posts. Have you ever entered a meme? If not, you might like to give one of these a try; it really is more simple than you think, and it allows you to share your post with someone else’s readers, who may very well stick with you. If you’re a seasoned linker, why not try something new – there really are some great ideas out there at the moment:
My own meme, Wot So Funee?, asks you to post about the things children say or write in earnest, which leave the adult in fits of laughter; what better way to use your blog than to record the adorable things you will otherwise forget as they get older.
A few artistic memes have started up recently: Chatty Baby’s You Get the Picture asks us to showcase our children’s artistic talents, Snap Slappers by Five Go Blogging challenges us to beautify our photos with such amazing tools as Picnik or Fotoflexer, and for a nice easy Saturday there is always fun at Mammasaurus’s Saturday is Caption Day!
If you’ve never tried it, you really should have a go at the wonderful Tara Cain’s The Gallery on Sticky Fingers. A new prompt every week for you to post a photo and a story to go with it. There are some other long-standing memes such as Dear So and So at 3 Bedroom Bungalow – really easy, and great if you fancy a rant. Or try Kate Takes 5’s Listography, another prompt to get you thinking of your top 5…..? Mummy from the Heart gives us Reasons to be Cheerful, but she has just started a new Blogging Charter Meme which promises to be thought-provoking and very topical.
So there you go! Feel inspired to have a go at a new meme? Or have we missed out your favourite? Leave us a comment, tell us about your favourite meme, and let us know about your favourite post from this week’s Royal Mumness.
